Frequently Asked Questions

A1 - Simply key #01 to turn off the software and key #02 to turn it back on.
Q2 - Who will I pay for the calls that the software intercepts?
A2 - You will pay BtL for the second leg of the call and if you pay anything at all your airtime provider for the first leg.
Q3 - What do I do if I am unhappy with the performance of the service?
A3 - You can request a refund of the software within 14 days of purchase and if you have pre-paid for any calls the unused balance will be repaid onto your card.
Q4 - Is the software supported on the iphone?
A4 - No not yet.
Q5 - Can I transfer the software from one phone to another?
A5 - At the moment the answer is no, as the software is locked to the unique serial number of the phone.
Q6 - Will this solution reduce my roaming call charges?
A6 - No but we do have another solution for that so please contact BtL and ask for details on how to eliminate inbound roaming call charges and reduce outbound roaming call charges.
Q7 - Is the service reliable and business grade?
A7 - Yes the platform is business grade and is replicated in three places, handling millions of calls per day. BtL has never experienced any down time in the last 3 years.
Q8 - Don't some networks provide 0800 calls for free?
A8 - Yes Orange currently do and so we recommend simply turning the software off for those calls, or take the view that the extra cost for these calls should be more than offset by savings in international and other 08xx numbers.
Q9 - If I have my CLI turned off can I use the service.
A9 - No, the CLI is needed for authentication to use the service and provide billing records.
Q10 - Is there a post dial delay?
A10 - The post dial delay is variable and may even be less than dialling direct from your mobile for some international destinations. Importantly our software will pop up on screen with our logo saying what is happening.
Q11 - Do you have to turn the Mobile Interceptor on every time you turn the phone on?
A11 - On Windows Mobile devices the software will be set to auto-start. On a Nokia this isn't allowed so auto-start will need to be manually turned on. We can advise you if you have any problems.
Q12 - I can't/don't want to have any software on my phone; can I still use this service to reduce my call charges?
A12 - Yes, the software just automates the process. You can choose to dial the local dial-in number for the BtL Interceptor platform, and once you receive dial-tone, you then dial the destination number as usual.
